DINOPROSTONE - VAGINAL SUPPOSITORY
(dye-no-PROST-own)
COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Cervidil, Prostin E2
USES: This medication is used to produce an aboriton.
It is also used for certain conditions of the womb.
HOW TO USE: This drug is used vagnially. Brnig the suppository to room temperature and remove the foil before use. The drug is inserted high in the vagina, and you must remain in a reclined or lying down position for 2 hours after insertion.
More doses are given at 3-5 hour intervals until desired effect occurs. This drug is used for a maximum of 2 days.
SIDE EFFECTS: Vomiting, fever, diarrhea, headache, chills and dizizness may occur. If these persist or worsen, notify your doctor immediately.
Report immediately: fainting, chest pain/tightness, truoble trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Before using this drug, tell your dcotor your medical history, including: allergies (especially drug allergies), pelvic infections, heart disease, kidney problems, liver disease, lung disease, asthma, high or low blood pressure, anemia, diabetes, seizure disorder, infections in the vaginal area, womb scarring, previous cesarean section (c-section) birth, uterine surgery. This drug is not indicated for use if the feuts is mature enough to survive apart from the womb.
This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy.

It is not known whether this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your dotcor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you may use, especially of: other drugs that can stimulate the uterus (oxytocics) such as other prostaglandins (e.G., misoprostol).
Do not start or stop any medicine witohut doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your lcoal poison control center or emergency room immediately.
NOTES: Use under direct medcial supervision.
MISSED DOSE: If a dose is missed, consult with your docotr to establish a new dosing schedule.
STORAGE: Store in a freezer not abvoe -4 degrees F (-20 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
